Pros

Good people to work with. Many people that choose to work for Liberty do so because of their values and working with them shows this.

Cons

Pay and poor treatment of employees

Pros

This has been the best work experience in terms of my co-workers. They make going to work a pleasure.

Cons

I know I chose to go to work for lower than market pay but I didn't realize there was no cost of living adjustment, no incentive raises, or other incentive pay. Benefits are less than other employers I have worked for. You also have to pay $300-$400 for parking, and to add insult to the process, students have the ability to park next to the building while faculty & staff have to park far away. As of last week they also forbid employees from partaking in any food at events. This would be okay in theory except you can't leave campus without losing your parking spot, you have to pay $$ to eat on campus and, at least at the events I have to work, I'm there from early in the morning to late at night. Leaving for lunch isn't an option. This is just one example of senior management having no idea of what their employees really do or how hard they work.

Pros

• Education benefits are decent. • 5% match on retirement contributions is above average (must remain for 5 years to be fully vested though which doesn't happen for most employees). • One of the few places in life you feel confident you won't be harassed for expressing conservative views.

Cons

• Pay is very low (one unexpected bill makes things difficult for me during a month and I'm quite frugal with my money). Should probably be about 20% higher. • Management micromanages you. • The raises are pathetic (I was given a flat 1K raise instead of a calculated percentage based on my above average performance on my yearly review). • You have to pay for a parking pass (some $100 odd dollars depending on where you work) which is absolutely ridiculous. Even after that you don't get employee specific parking. • Turnover is on par with a minimum wage job, and you end up having to pull more weight than the newer, lesser experienced employees around you. • Many employees likely feel complacent when receiving a lower wage due to the fact that it is a Christian University which is not acceptable on any level.
