Pros

Lidl Lancaster is a convenient and affordable supermarket that offers great value for money. The store is well-organized, with a wide range of fresh produce, bakery items, and international foods. Prices are generally lower than other supermarkets in the area, making it a popular choice for students and local families. The staff are usually friendly and helpful, and the checkout process is quick, especially with the self-service tills. However, during peak hours, the store can get quite busy and some shelves may be temporarily empty. Despite that, the overall shopping experience is positive. Lidl also promotes sustainability with reduced plastic packaging and local sourcing where possible. In short, Lidl Lancaster is a reliable place for weekly shopping—clean, efficient, and budget-friendly.

Unclear expectations and limited technical exposure

Pros

Reasonable working hours with minimal overtime. Some exposure to regional coordination and vendor management.

Cons

Onboarding and guidance for new hires are minimal, leaving newcomers to figure things out independently. The role relies heavily on HQ teams for any system or infrastructure-related work, leaving very little actual hands-on experience. Most tasks involve following up on tickets or waiting for HQ updates, which can make the work feel stagnant over time. Communication and support from the team can be slow as members are often tied up in meetings or unavailable. Expectations and job scope differ from what was presented during the hiring process, which may lead to disappointment for those seeking a technical, infrastructure-focused role.
