Pros

Good pay as customer assistant, as you get paid for every minute you are in store. Not the same for managers, they get a salary no matter how much overtime you do. however you will get time back in holidays. If you work hard it gets noticed by some managers (this obviously varies by managers and stores) I was only on 25hour contract but always get atlest 30 hours, some weeks as much as 40.

Cons

no work life balance. early starts (4am) and late finishes (latest Ive left was 11,30pm, store closes at 9pm!!) however normally about 9.30/10pm but this is still quite late. days off arent always in a row. rota changes every week so cant plan. time scales are hard to work to as very tight!

Pros

Great pay for a supermarket

Cons

Expected to do so much so quickly. Ridiculous amount of time on tills without a break or a change over. Cold stores, no stores like to use there heaters! Lack of communication between management. Not trained fully.
