Pros

The pay is good for retail. Staff discount is a staggering 10%. There is a chance to progress but all of my managers worked very long hours I didn't find this appealing.

Cons

Although being on a 30hr contract LIDL would regularly cut my hours below that. The scan rate and task times are there to make you work very hard. It's not so bad in the bigger stores but in a the smaller stores this places a lot of pressure on staff. It's a battle to ever get holiday. No regular shift pattern makes it difficult to plan your life. Although pay is better than the other retail company I have worked for is barely worth the increased stress.

Pros

Colleagues are fun to work with, discount on already cheap products,

Cons

Rotas done last minute, no consideration to families, massive lack of moral. Working hours constantly changing earlier starts later fineshes. No respect from higher management.
