      Stuck between what was, and what could be.

      Pros

      Benefits are genuinely phenomenal. Some of the best leaders and pastors I’ve ever worked with are scattered around the organization. Great to engage with so many different people with so many different backgrounds and areas of expertise at the Central offices.

      Cons

      Long tenured leadership can be homogeneous and holding more to what was as opposed to piloting for what could be, especially if that might look different than things have been. A high feedback culture where feedback flows much more steadily downstream than it does upstream. Huge and growing emphasis on monetary giving can and does blur the lines between what scripture calls us to in James 2.

      The vision and mission are incredible. There are also some amazing people on staff that make it so fun to do ministry with. I truly love what I get to do despite leadership challenges mentioned in the "cons" section.

      There is a lack of accountability for those in higher positions and have been on staff for a long time.

      You have the potential to have lasting impact on the lives of people

      Cons

      I worked here for over eight years, and honestly, I can't believe I stuck around that long. The organization and its leadership are full of toxicity—gaslighting, gossip, and abusive behavior are all too common. I worked under multiple leaders and across different areas, and the same issues showed up everywhere. This place is not a healthy work environment. I'd strongly recommend doing ministry elsewhere.
