Not just a job

Pros

Your team becomes family. Your leaders truly care about your well-being and development. You are viewed as a leader no matter your role. You are empowered to ask the hard questions and make decisions. The feedback culture is handled in a way that is honoring not demeaning. Your leaders and peers will help you see when your work/life balance is uneven and ensure you get back in balance so burnout doesn't happen.

Cons

It's easy to get caught up and engrained in what you're doing that you can slip into spending more time at the office than at home.

Pros

Life.Church challenges you in all the best ways. In my opinion, there's no better way to grow than when you're surrounded by people who know you, love you, and respect you. When you work here, people will tell you the truth about your work, your strengths and your weaknesses, but that will result in you growing as a leader more than you ever have before. On staff, you'll also be given freedom, flexibility, and trust that you've never experienced before either. It's not an easy job, but it's a satisfying, fulfilling, fun, and rewarding job. I wouldn't want to work anywhere else.

Cons

I mentioned this in the pros: It's not easy to work here. If you're looking for a job where you can coast, where your manager or peers won't really know what you do on a daily basis or where you can play on the internet all day, this isn't it. Life.Church will challenge you. This team has a way of finding the skills and talents God gave you, even if they aren't encompassed in your actual title. You will be given a lot of feedback, and some of it may hurt, but it will always make you better. The hours can sometimes be long, but there's a lot of flexibility in taking time off and a definite emphasis on resting.

Pros

Wow, Life.Church is truly a special place! I can honestly say that I'm excited to come to work every day. The entire staff is passionately chasing after a clear and inspiring mission. We get to learn from world-class leaders who care about our lives beyond just our roles. We're given opportunities every single day to develop as leaders and followers of Christ. We receive crazy generous benefits. We have fun and genuinely enjoy working together. And best of all, we get to see life change happen right before our eyes as God works through us. I can't imagine a better place to live out my calling!

Cons

Because we believe so strongly in the importance of our mission, we work hard, we move at a very fast pace, and we have a high feedback culture. There's a high level of intensity and urgency to what we do. If you're not wired with similar levels of drive, passion, and teachability, this will be a very challenging place for you to work. (On the flip side, if you are wired that way, you won't find a better place to run and grow with other like-minded people!)
