Pros

The developmental culture at Life.Church is amazing and truly allows for both personal and professional development that is owned by the team member and supported by leadership. This is the most rewarding and challenging position I have held. I am at the Central office in a professional role, not a pastor role. The integrity and excellence of Life.Church is present in all areas of the organization. I have grown more in my professional role through the level of experience, exposure and ownership of my area than I believe I would have had anywhere else.

Cons

I don't have any cons.

Using your unique talents to make a difference

Pros

There are a ton of non-profit and even church/ministry specific organizations that can use talented people to make a difference in the world. Life.Church isn't so different from the other great organizations out there in terms of the work you can be doing and the impact it will have on the community. I've worked for several non-profits over the years. I currently volunteer with several, as well. What makes the difference at Life.Church is that they know you well enough to help you thrive in your role, help you develop new skills, challenge you if you need extra support to gain new knowledge or wisdom, and fully support your family life like no other organization I have worked for previously. It's a very challenging and fulfilling calling where you're able to innovate and create new ways of doing things so that people can be reached for Christ in ways you hadn't imagined were possible. This organization is for people-loving, Christ-centered and innovative individuals who have a God-given talent that can be used in infinite ways. The best part is that there is usually an opportunity to move onto a new or different team if you discover a passion you're better suited to pursue. That is a rare option for many organizations.

Cons

Sometimes we give up things (finances, time with family, opportunities to travel, holidays off, luxuries) for things we love even more. This is a mindset you have to possess (or learn with time) if you're committed to the cause. The reward is far greater, but you have to be willing to accept the cost.

Pros

Love the flexible work environment, lends very well to creating balance between work and family. Self-development is highly encouraged. The Pace is fast and you always feel challenged. Incredible leadership over the church as a whole, very organized, highly value excellence. Do a great job of building up leaders and encouraging us to expand our leadership.

Cons

The only downside our family has experienced is just with having a spouse with an opposite schedule can occasionally make it difficult to find family time as a whole or getting creative with child care for one time events and such but outside of that I really can't come up with any true "downsides". The only advice I can offer is if you are not highly driven and fast-paced, this may not be the work environment for you. We run on two speeds: Chaos and Insane.
