      Pros

      Life.Church is a hard place to work, ministry requires that your focus is not on yourself, your recognition, your comfort, your brand. It requires that you are focused on the mission of the ministry and how your role directly supports this ministry 100% of the time. If you lean into that, embrace the opportunities for growth, and champion those you work with - you will find this is the most fulfilling, rewarding and purposeful opportunity in your life and it happens to be your job.

      Cons

      This is a con for those who don't want to do it. You will sacrifice for this ministry. Ministry is 24/7, you will have times that the church asks you to be working (i.e. Christmas and Easter, etc) when you may otherwise plan that trip to see family. Or they will ask you to not post your advocacy or political opinions on your social media, so that you don't unintentionally disengage someone from taking that step to walk into the church. Or they will require that as a staff member, you live in Biblical alignment - because as a staff member you are a minister of the church. These are sometimes harder things to lean into if you rather put your time, opinions, and comfort above the mission and ministry of the Church

      - Leaders/staff that truly care about you. - Feel so supported - Childcare onsite - GREAT benefits! - Continual development opportunities - I have grown so much since I first started working here. My life and family look so different, and I have friends and community I never had before. So thankful.

      - Some roles have more demanding hours/deadlines - Must be intentional about rest
