Pros

Decent pay and good benefits is really the only good thing I can say about the remote customer service position

Cons

poor communication and poor support from managers on the customer care center side of operations. I communicated needs to be off due to essential doctors appointments WELL in advance. Im talking had doctors appointments planned out for months that I made management aware of on more than one occasion. Then when a new schedule would come out, I would be scheduled in the middle of a doctors appointment time. It was always a problem when I addressed it as well to have my schedule changed. I always offered to pick up an additional shift or come in earlier or later, but that was never enough for them or it never worked for them. There were also plenty of times where I had difficult customers (as we all do in a call center) and I exhausted every last option that I had to deescalate the situation and finish the call on my own. Some customers absolutely demanded a supervisor even though I made them aware that the supervisor would be giving them the same answer. James at the time was my direct supervisor, and I went to him for support as HE was the manager on duty that day. He wouldn't even let me get a word in edge wise and had the nastiest attitude about being needed as a supervisor. If you don't want to do your job ... get a new one and quit taking your frustrations out on your team thats doing nothing but trying their best. I used to work store side before I transferred to remote work (for health reasons .... I couldn't do the physical part of the in store job anymore because of the heavy lifting and use of angle grinders to have to cut locks when needed) and absolutely LOVED my area manager store side because he was an outstanding communicator, he listened, and he understood that he signed up for a job as an area manager that would often be needed. He was the type of manager that made me want to come to work because he made it a healthy environment. I cant say the same for the customer care managers. If they still work there ... especially James, I feel for the employees. Maybe they should take some pages out of Woodies book on how to be healthy and effective management and how to treat their team like people. They'll also fire you for taking advantage of the 12 weeks of FMLA you're offered .... that you're entitled to actually, so keep that in mind. They want you back when they feel like you should be back .... even though FMLA legally covers 12 weeks, buts that neither here nor there.

Pros

Made my own schedule. Holidays off.

Cons

Practically everything. They expect one person to run the whole facility and work 6 days a week without having any issue. In the 2 years I worked here I spent almost an entire year single staffed. I had to work 6 days a week for $17 an hour dealing with rodents, rowdy customers and area managers micromanaging my store.
