Pros

Unable to provide any pros.

Cons

-No response from AM or HR regarding important issues. -Sometimes expected to cover 2 stores in 1 day, leaving customers that needed assistance to cover another store. -Expected to do work of a Store Manager w/ pay of an ASM. -Required to cover numerous stores across the valley every week. -Days off changed at the last minute, but I am required to give 30 days notice for PTO requests. -Required to cover Lead Manager's store because they are travelling with AM instead of managing their store. -Never working in my home store. -Bonuses taken away to no fault of our own (contract cancelled and budget was not adjusted).

Pros

Evenings free and great holiday and paid time off options for a job of this caliber. A few years ago they opened paths up to move up from store level making it less of a dead end job. I think it's a fun job, a good mix of customer service, computer work and property maintenance. They are working on improving the operating systems but it is slow going and the new systems are not ideal for end user... lots of clicking and operations take longer than they need to.

Cons

LifeStorage (formerly Uncle Bob's Self Storage) it's still one of the better employment options but it seems to be changing and is less caring toward employees than it once was. (Cutting staffing limits, closing during the week which requires split days off). The Area Managers can really make or break your experience as well. I lucked out and have a great one. Staffing limits mean you usually work alone and if you have a co worker quit or get fired it's very hard to get coverage between locations until they hire a replacement (which can take a while in this current economy in 2023) They don't offer spousal coverage on health insurance.
