Pros

great facility, people and atmosphere for the fitness industry and they do a great job of keeping up with the changes in the industry

Cons

terrible work life balance even for a Personal Trainer. The point of being a PT is to have the flexibility of being at your place of employment when you have clients and for the hours you choose to prospect and if you do not have either of those, you can go home or workout. Not allowing PTs to workout on shift is ridiculous.

A REAL REVIEW FROM A CURRENT EMPLOYEE

Pros

Free Membership, good people you work with (at the club level)

Cons

Company cut Account Managers pay which in some cases drastically limited the amount AM's could bring in each month. This cut was about 20-30K (and even more) in most cases per year. Corporate rolled this out as a "simplifying of the compensation plan" and ensured AM's that this was NOT a pay cut...It was a lie flat out and there is no other way to explain it. Culture is terrible. You are constantly working 60+ hours a week and thats just expected with no exceptions. Monthly quotas are reachable if your good at the job, but even on a good month your facing terrible and repetitive offers. Work Life Balance...does not exist. You are given 1 week day and 1 weekend day off and these are included on Holidays. You will work A LOT... Membership offers are garbage and they used to be sporadic which actually worked better for AM's for leveraging and closing purposes, but now it's just Monday and Tuesday "flash sales" and "value packs" (higher joining fees) the rest of the week. Don't believe me? get the job and I promise you this is what your club will offer EACH AND EVERY WEEK... The company slogan is "healthy way of life" yet just about all full time employees are stripped from their families, given a horrendous PTO structure, and overworked week by week. Sick days...DO NOT EXIST, expect to make up the day This job is perfect for the single guy or gal with no real family who wants to have their entire life revolve around working at Life Time. I could go on, please save yourself the time and headache and go the other way if you have even an ounce of dignity. This company is going downhill and burning good people left and right. Don't be one of them. the bad reviews on here are not just upset former employees but actual people who work for a terrible company that is GREAT for the member, but AWFUL for the employee.

Pros

Decent benefits for full time. Free gym membership. But keep in mind you will pay for that in defeat and working for a company that doesn't value you.

Cons

Lifetime is a greedy machine. Employees and members are not valued. Turn around is high and good managers are crushed by corporate demands that make it hard for them to do an effective job. In all the years we've been open nothing has been updated in the spa despite the fact that things are breaking, old and run down. The quality of our space has deteriorated and become embarrassing. But apparently no money will be spent to update or repair or fix it despite the fact that the gym has had major updates twice. There is very little trust from the employees to the company in terms of compensation. We continually have to double check our paychecks for accuracy. Lifetime has been part of many lawsuits regarding violations in wages and compensation. For violation minimum wage laws. You can google that for more info.
