Pros

If you love fitness the clubs are outstanding, especially the Athletic brand locations. Free membership obviously, great tasting and mostly healthy food choices in the cafe (great coffee!). Daily interactions with the 'regular' members can be the highlight of your day if you like the old health club mentality when people actually socialized. In sales roles you get instant gratification in your paycheck, no yearly bonus. You are 100% commission.

Cons

You are 100% commission, so if you have a tough month you will work long hours to make more $$. Your managers will pressure you to work on off days or stay late to make your personal shortfall. (Don't take it personal, their compensation is based on your performance and they want a bonus too!) You will LIVE at the club in sales roles. Your social life becomes your colleagues and members. You will work weekends - no way around it

Pros

Guaranteed pay but you will need to purchase items that are not on the approved vendor list. You need to depend on the General Manager to reimburse you. It did not always happen for me.

Cons

Poorly ran company. Not 1 hair dresser in the salon had anything positive to say about working in the salon. It takes 3 months to hire a new team member. The systems they have in place make it difficult to be productive at your job.

Pros

a great atmosphere, wonderful layout of the clubs, high quality equipment/locations, free membership included (20 hour minimum), reduced spa services (see position)

Cons

50 cents over minimum wage, no raises, over worked to make enough to support half of the paycheck you need to get by,no time to use the free membership because of the need to work more often, unorthodox need to memorize cheap mission statements that add nothing and could use that time to do restructuring of payment.
