Pros

- Free gym membership. -Luck of the draw with team members and your management. - Slow during fall and winter. -Some members are nice. -Worth it if you are part time and want a nice gym membership.

Cons

- No increase in pay or hiring of seasonal workers for operations during the summer. If your gym location has pools get ready to put in double the work with no help in additional staff or pay incentive. - Some of the members can be extremely dirty/nasty. Most aren't but those few who are nasty can ruin an entire shift. -Pay is only slightly more than the rest of your team and it doesn't reflect the extra work/responsibility of a supervisor. - Promotions only come if some one is fired or if there is an opening at a new location. Don't expect to be rewarded for going the extra mile. - High turnover will have you scrambling for coverage. -They discontinued overnight operations, so no one resets the gym, and work that is missed has to get absorbed by the morning crew.

Pros

Free membership, connections, members, most coworkers.

Cons

Everything. Could be different at different clubs but stay away from every Austin TX club or Central Texas club. An area leader who leads with fear and makes everyone think they'll be fired everyday. Don't hire and will make you work outside your availability with nobody else and you don't get breaks on 9/10+ hour shifts. Went 4 months without a manager in two different departments while area manager goes on vacations and lies to employees faces. Told a white man that there's too many white males that work here but he's okay because he's a gay man. No training, no coaching. I have worked in corporate positions and this is the worst ran business I've ever seen. Leaders don't take feedback. They will belittle you and treat you as nothing. I can go on for a whole essay. All in all, stay away, I repeat, STAY AWAY.

Pros

Flexible schedule and you get to truly help people which is very rewarding.

Cons

It’s a sales job. Not a PT job. They only care about making money. There are no benefits aside from a very small amount of PTO and there the pay is horrible especially for your first couple of years.
