Pros

Expense meals, benefits. If you live in the VA beach area or Roanoke area this job would be more bearable. If you live in central VA you will drive all over the place

Cons

Traveling all over Virginia, no management support, "non profit" but for a profit. Inexperienced nurses managing BD donors

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate candid feedback from current and former team members—it helps us improve. We recognize that certain roles require travel across Virginia and that this can be challenging. We are continually reviewing staffing models, scheduling practices, and support resources to ease the burden and help colleagues balance personal and professional commitments. We strive to ensure every employee feels supported. We’re investing in manager development, clearer communication channels, and coaching so concerns are addressed promptly and constructively. Patient safety and ethical practice are fundamental. Clinical team members receive training and supervision appropriate to their responsibilities, and we reinforce mentoring, competency validation, and escalation pathways to safeguard quality of care. Donation conversations must be compassionate, informed, and voluntary. We do not condone pressure of any kind. We adhere to applicable regulations and accreditation standards, and we regularly review training, so families are treated with respect at all times. We also routinely evaluate and update our protocols and training to reflect best practices. If there are specific procedures you believe need attention, we welcome details so we can review and take appropriate action. Your feedback matters. If you’re comfortable, please connect directly with our HR team at HumanResources@lifenethealth.org, so we can learn more and ensure your concerns are addressed constructively.

Pros

Helping others, meeting new people, additional pay depending on case activity, benefits are ok. Learn many skills and become knowledgeable in anatomy. Acquire great critical thinking skills.

Cons

Demanding hours, on call required, long working hours with no shifts, can be on call up to 72 hours straight, health insurance is more expensive every year, must travel but locally with a team. If you don’t like the mission of the job or the type of work you won’t last long. No advancement opportunities within department
