Pros

When they hire you with a fresh AA degree in Marketing from NCC, it's almost impossible to get fired, providing you show up in the mornings. From there, you learn what you can (with no mentoring) and move on. Some of their past exec's laughingly referred to Lifetime as a "stepping stone to success." But if "free bagels on Fridays" is enough incentive to work there ... then you deserve to work there.

Cons

For entry level management, you're tossed into the deep end of the pool and you either sink or swim. If you swim, you get to do the work of lazy, incompetent and insecure supervisors, who themselves are terrified for their jobs and would happily throw their own children to the wolves to keep it. So if things go right - they take the credit and if things go wrong, you get the blame. Knowledgeable, experienced professionals are quickly marginalized by their superiors, since it doesn't take much to make them look bad.
