Pros

Easy to get a job, I cannot think of anything else good to say to be honest.

Cons

Corporate human resources are like sharks and do not care about your health when (work related) you need their help. You lose bonus pay for mistakes that are out of the production workers control no matter how many millions of parts you make. They import visa'd workers continuously for over 2 years now from Hungary paying them 5-6 dollars per hour working them 7 days a week, 12 hours a day with NO days off for their 6 month visa work permit taking away millions of dollars from Guelph families. My estimate at minimum is 50-200 MILLION PER YEAR in lost community revenue from wages to taxes to spending money back into our city. 1% wage hike per year if lucky. Wages are low considering there is no Union and mediocre benefits. There is no work balance at all even though its part of their core values(#2), mandatory 6 day weeks for years on end. Hundreds of GREAT HARDWORKING people fired for not wanting to continuously work 6 day weeks forever. Always pushing to the maximum making up to 200-300 parts per hour. Lack of quality personal protective equipment that has stitching and lets chemicals touch your skin They expect you to train people that dont speak (zero English) English and visa-versa. Zero training when you get on the job which is very unsafe and results in poor quality parts. Engineering does not update the files for the workers and try to get you to sign off on training even if the paperwork is very inaccurate. Lunch breaks are 20 minutes minus walking time which can leave you as little as 8 minutes after washroom break and heating up your food. Some management will bully you if your sick. Appeals process is a joke. The Linamar DIRTY SECRET of coolant rashes that can last a lifetime and corporate does not care and will actually put you back on the same jobs or threaten to fire you. Management will pass faulty parts continuously to improve their bonuses and then we lose bonus money after weve been caught the bad parts when GM and Ford notices(non stop).

Pros

good basic pay better than GTA, overtime readily available those who wants to do. A good surviving job for new immigrants who wants to make quick savings.

Cons

highly unorganized, supervisors know the problems but not enough motivated to solve it. Too much pressure for production
