Pros

Good salary, decent amount of freedom and autonomy to do my job in the best way I believe, helping kids get further training and education to help them into good careers. Overall, the company seems to take care of its employees as long as you appear to buy into the corporate culture that it cultivates.

Cons

This company tends to micro manage its employees. Lots of travel involved in my position. There is a lot of pressure to get kids to sign up and enroll in the school. The bottom line for the company seems to be generating as much cash from student loans and grants. I'm still undecided if I agree with the company's general philosophy. As someone who has a considerable amount of student debt, it's hard at times to encourage young students to take on student loan debt as well.

Pros

Great people, pay and benefits were good if you were in the union. The instructors and support staff were fantastic in wanting to prepare the students for the "real world" job.

Cons

The management vs union battles, pay and benefits were not great if you were a non-union employee. There was a lot of micro-management. The cover story is providing an education but always remember that LTI is a for-profit institution and student retention is the most important thing. The students are valued higher than the employee because they are the customer. Do not be fooled, yes you are providing an education to the student but they are the $$$ for the school without the student there is no instructor.
