The Worst Place Ever

Pros

The kids are the only redeeming quality about this place

Cons

Weak pay. No support from management what so ever. You are expected to fill ever second being productive, while also trying to tame kids with learning and behavioral disabilities (something you are NOT trained to do). I was RUNNING to the bathroom during our short breaks in between sessions, because being just one minute late to session is looked down upon (they call it 'wasting frames'). Upper management does not care about the kids, and it shows as they consistently overbooked us even when everyones' plates were full (management gets commission from signing a student on, so they don't care). So many sessions I felt more like a babysitter than a teacher; many students do not respect the clinicians and there is no support from higher up to set up a list of expectations that the students are expected to follow. You'll be doing the work here of multiple employees, all while making pennies on the dime. Not worth it.

Insultingly Low Pay

Pros

Being able to see fast growth in students and develop relationships with them.

Cons

Terrible pay. You’re expected to have a college degree but you get paid what dishwashers make. Everyone seems so forcibly fake it’s uncomfortable. No opportunities for the staff to get to know each other. If a new teacher is hired, nobody asks him/her anything about their life or background. You have to watch the clock like a hawk and clock in/out at the exact minute. No clocking in a little early or a little late. You only get 5 minutes to finish notes from the last student and get all your supplies ready for the next student. You’re not allowed to go outside the script and when you offer new teaching suggestions, they’re usually met with “Oh thank you but we really can’t do that because blah blah blah…” even when the parent is specifically asking for it because their child is finding success with your new method. You are expected to be at the center in person (no working from home unless you’re sick) — even on days when ALL of your students are online.
