Pros

Helping kids who really need it, the program works wonders, decent pay at SOME locations,

Cons

fast paced if you can't keep up, little time between students (5 minutes to leave one student, set up for the next, and get started), hours can be inconsistent depending on student load, the amount they charge per student compared to how much they pay the people who do the most direct work with students is insulting. The core values / mission are more of a theory than reality.

Pros

Work with people that support kids and care for their well-being Sweet people operating the Sacramento center, though they also were not transparent about the rehire bonus

Cons

Horrible corporate culture, rampant favoritism (corporate), outdated training (watching videos of trainers training) and outdated self-gratifying manuals on the program, low budget which decreases recidivism of returning employees and low mentorship presence (although this year there were more mentors than last year), marketing a $3,000 rehire bonus without clarifying beforehand that it is before taxes are taken out: make sure to ask HR for clarification before. They will assume you know that what is marketing is before taxes. I only found out after receiving my bonus.

Awful Company

Pros

There aren't any pros. This company is the lowest of lows in education.

Cons

As a former employee, the treatment of its employees are despicable. Directors and regional managers are threatened by capable, intelligent employees and purposely hinder career advancement. They also grossly lie to EDD. I've fought them in court and won which resulted in EDD benefits and restoration of reputation. A class action lawsuit was also won in regard to this company illegally withholding breaks from its employees. As far as clients, they overcharge and gear towards rich, privileged clientele. LBLP will also constantly advise returning to the same redundant reading program, taking gross advantage of their clients. They suggest the same programs - Seeing Stars & Visualizing and Verbalizing - to every single potential client. Test scores and results aren't what they seem. These are facts. Stay away from this place - as an employee & potential client.
