BOC was a good company and then Linde took over. Head office is in Germany and they send out quarterly reports showing hundreds of million euros in profit but can not bother to spend the money on where it really matters. They bleed the company dry of the best employees with massive layoffs for cheaper labour in other countries. It’s very much a work with what you’ve got environment. They say Safety is the top priority but it’s 100% BS because as soon as safety has a dollar value assigned to it, they will ignore it and “work with what you got”
Linde will do everything possible to find a cheaper alternative or a reason to not spend money.
The sales team are very well trained but you can be gone at any second.
The plant employees are very much scum to upper management.
Inside sales are now second class to the CARE team.
CARE reps get abused by Outside sales frequently and are hated by the Inside Sales.
Drivers have it the absolute worst in the company and some unions certainly protect the ones who shouldn’t be there.
The company is so poorly run it will make your head spin in a million directions. There have been multiple attempts to turn it around but the managements true colours always shine through. They wanted to “Flip the pyramid” upside down to have all information trickle “down” to management but they just continued to hand out poor direction, and all suggestions/complaints fell on deaf ears.
The management have created a volatile environment with allowing the poor behavior of some customers. Pipeline companies are especially bad as they know they can walk away and go to anyone else.
Multiple employees are off on stress leave at the same time and there is no helpful direction from management at any level.
The best thing that could happen to Linde is if the merger is approved by the competition board and Praxair takes over.
