Fine place to work, but lost our “Day 1” agility & prioritization of talent
Pros
- Competitive compensation when you factor in benefits, equity, PTO, and holidays - Very smart workforce; Generally enjoyable people to be around - Organizational drive to remain relevant, trustworthy, and competitive in the marketplace
Cons
- Lost sight of talent being our greatest asset. Have transitioned from a “We’re lucky to have you” culture to a “You’re lucky to be here” culture. - “Development” is an internal buzzword, but there is no real commitment to employee development outside of check-the-box training/exercises, and there’s not much transparency around what is required for promotion (every leader takes a different lens on this). - Revenue targets are increasingly ambitious, but selling resources are continuously stripped back. - Short sighted decisions being made around the newer products we are bringing to market. Prioritizing market adoption for lower revenue-yielding products over spending our time/efforts selling highest revenue yielding products. - Processes can be incredibly slow and labor intensive, which is shocking when you remember LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft and has access to some of the greatest technical talent and resources in the world. Also increasing scrutiny/ approvals required for outside-the-box deals, reflecting waning trust in the ability of the Salesforce to discern best course of action for their clients.
