Pros

People are really nice and care about each other for the most part. Depending on your team, the work life balance is good.

Cons

Very little upward trajectory. I've never been asked to give feedback for a manager of mine. Upper management seems very stressed and has turned to micromanaging ICs. Pay is not as good as the other top tech companies.

Pros

LinkedIn offers some great benefits and a competitive salary for my role. Feels like they can sometimes go above and beyond benefits that I would not expect to find any most other companies. The insurance I have here is fantastic and I rarely worry about what a doctor bill or a prescription will cost me. I've worked other places where it felt like the insurance might as well have not existed. This has been a major stress reducer when health issues do come up or I feel the need to get an exam for something. I feel like I've been able to take care of myself here more than other places.

Cons

The vision for LinkedIn is completely lost right now. Decisions are being made with no idea of a roadmap and things are just being handled as they come up. Around Thanksgiving of 2024, the Product Operations team faced a large layoff and a massive overhaul of the department. We're still trying to figure things out. People were given new roles and have not been told what they're doing yet. Training hasn't been created when the new roles started weeks ago. It's one of the biggest department messes I've seen in a decade of office work. All of this is supposed to be in support of the members (what leadership says) but members are being harmed right now by the lack of support being caused by the disarray in these departments. Structures that we just finished changing are being changed again, in massive ways. It feels like someone new, and unfamiliar with the company, took over and decided to change everything but doesn't understand why or how to do so. I think things will get even worse before there's a chance they maybe get better.
