Pros

There were no positive experiences or memories with that company

Cons

We couldn't find professional ethics in this organization. Their utter lack of competence, especially at the leadership level, is evident. The country head is particularly problematic, lacking the competency to handle the position and having no understanding of processes. His only solution seems to be terminating employees.

Pros

- People to your left and right are generally amazing to work with, both in terms of attitude and competence - Generally low tolerance for backstabbing politics, crab-mentality competition - Plentiful opportunities to sink your teeth into new problem domains - For those looking to stretch themselves, apply themselves into their work and grow as technical leaders, plenty of headroom to grow into - Depending on the team you're joining, potentially robust culture of peer mentoring - Real opportunity to challenge yourself and do your best work with a supportive, memorable team

Cons

- Those uncomfortable with taking greater ownership of their work will find an overwhelming degree of involvement being asked of them. For both your sake and theirs, Lionsbot only if you're looking for intense work! - Management has historically underestimated the cost of taking on additional technical debt, leading to eventual development cycle slowdowns hits to product quality. They've since explicitly committed to investing in quality engineering, but I left in the infancy of this strategic re-orientation, so I cannot + will not speculate - The phrase "owner's mindset" gets bandied around a lot, but in my view the company didn't offer enough clarity around equity-based compensation for employees to feel the investment + participation

The Dysfunctional Organization

Pros

Many only if you have been favored by the CEO and princelings. The bar is so low you can easily out perform if you know what to do. If you are good with your mouth, Sweet talking is the way. It is very easy to be non-accountable in this company, due to dynamics of fluid job role assignments.

Cons

Its like watching Yoko Ono perform. You must have a high level of self control to bear the performance. CEO and CTO are experts at micromanaging, its the only tool in their arsenal they know how to use. Lacking in business sense, economics and knowledge about productivity incentives
