Pros
start-up environment (research beforehand) opportunity to contribute to processes (if your boss supports you and doesn't throw you under the bus at every opportunity) WFH (but the office isn't anything to write home about unless you care about catered lunches occasionally) competitive salary because the expectation is you blood sweat and tears round the clock even on PTO (which unlimited PTO is a scam and up to the discretion of your team and whether or not you have priority) everyone "wears many hats" which means they are exhausted and overwhelmed and not trained/qualified to do many things
Cons
toxic and unprofessional culture startup for a lengthy time but still lacks any legitimate resources for employees excessive micromanagement good ole boys club where many can get away with doing no work and others are publically criticized for their mistakes you'll be asked to do a million things which you receive no training on, is not defined in your role, and be told (this is what makes a startup great) retaliation for speaking up
