Pros

LiveRamp is a great company to grow as it is very fast-paced. Projects are various, changing team is possible and recommended by the managers at some point, so as an Engineer we get to do a lot of different things. Huge pro: the Hackweek lets employees work on any type of project helping the company for a week, and is a great way to try and discover new technologies/teams.

Cons

As it is a fast-paced company, the org might be changing quite fast sometimes.

LiveRamp Response

Thanks for your feedback and I can understand your frustration. We compete in a fast-moving space and we act quickly to respond to market opportunities. When coupled with LiveRamp's culture of autonomy, independence, and speed, our response and operations could come across as disorganized. We'd like to maintain our ability to move quickly while containing the chaos, and hope that you'll help the team where you can. P.S. I subsequently found this quote from an early Amazon engineer that resonated: "In my experience, innovation can only come from the bottom. Those closest to the problem are in the best position to solve it. I believe any organization that depends on innovation must embrace chaos." http://glinden.blogspot.com/2006/04/early-amazon-shopping-cart.html

Pros

LiveRamp is an excellent company to work for. They have the growth, flexibility, and culture of a start-up but with the backing, stability, and benefits of a large company. It is a place that really values learning and personal growth, and encourages you to improve. The people are friendly, open, and helpful and the higher ups eat lunch with the rest of us.

Cons

Not much honestly. A bit difficult to understand their product from the outside, so it can take a bit of time to to fully understand the context of the code. The flip side to flexible start up culture is that you need to be a bit more proactive. If you want to start contributing to a real project right away LiveRamp is your place. If you want a very strict training program with steps A - Z mapped for you you won't find that. You have the freedom to do what works for you, the flip side of which is that you need to pay attention to your own tendencies and figure out what does work for you. You have to communicate, ask questions when you don't know. All of which I feel is just another good opportunity to improve yourself but could also lead you into trouble if you expect greater structure.
