Since the company reorganized at the beginning of 2020 (pre Covid), the org structure has gotten ridiculously tall. Internally we joked that we were like Medusa - they would eliminate one director/head level role and create 2-3 more in its place. What this means for the standard worker is that direction is chaotic at best, completely non-existent at worst. Additionally, they have appointed the vast, vast majority of these new leadership positions in Europe (upwards of 75% + of new leadership), meaning that Americas and Asia regions are drastically under represented. European leaders are making global decisions that are detrimentally impacting the other regions which have their own challenges, but are not given the resources or time to deal with the problems. Finally, people are put into leadership positions who have no business being in charge of anyone. The working expectation for many teams is 6 day workweeks, working 10-14 hour days, despite the CEO often telling us to have a work life balance. Leadership is completely out of touch, and unwilling to push back on their management by telling them that we are understaffed. When new positions are opening up, they are being outsourced to cheaper countries. This makes employees feel overworked and undervalued. There are no development opportunities. I was repeatedly told by my manager that they would not promote me. And again, new opportunities when they were either created or backfilled, were located in outside (outsourced) regions.
