Pros

Modern building, generally friendly atmosphere, okay benefits

Cons

Had to figure out accounting software mistakes that clients made and instruct them on how to fix them. Many clients are elderly, or have limited English proficiency, or do not know how to use computers at all, many with have zero accounting experience. You are online with them for an hour teaching them how to use their mouse, etc, while the supervisor is texting you to hurry up and take more calls. Our queue was always backed up while others got four calls a day and walked around talking to each other. Besides this you had to learn more accounting queues and be tested on them weekly. Promised raise after passing all these tests never materialized. They promised after six months and you had “learned the ropes” you could switch up into better, higher paying positions—but there never were any. They just piled on more and more work, added weekend on call where they ONLY paid you for the minutes you were actually on the phone. You couldn’t leave, but had to stay by the computer in case a client called. Final straw was when the hybrid job I was hired into (2 days in office, 3 work from home) switched to all in-office work. The shift was awful too 10-7. I took it believing I could switch shifts after 6 month. It was all to sucker people in. You don’t get the raises, there are no higher level jobs to transfer to, and they want you to hurry through calls but not make the clients unhappy at the same time. Worst job I ever had! Found out quickly why turnover was so high.

Thanks for your feedback. To clarify, our Product Support Team provides support to a very diverse customer base on seven broad software topics. Only two of those topics are accounting related. Employees begin working at LCS in one of those seven areas. We love to provide cross-training to our employees. As they are trained in additional areas, employees take a certification. We expect that most people will take all seven certifications during their first two years of employment. There are not weekly tests. Not only are raises possible based on completion of these certifications, employees also receive an annual salary increase on their anniversary date based on their performance. Employees who come into our organization, focus on learning the software, and work to reach their goals are frequently promoted internally. In fact, a majority of our customer facing employees and many of our non-customer facing employees started working in this role.
