Pros

Great learning experience, best training in the nation for social work, weekends off, amazing benefits, you make a difference, you learn a lot about yourself as a person.

Cons

As with any government position, sometimes politics interfere with "the right thing" to do. As a social worker, you are sometimes faced with having to make difficult decisions that you may not agree with 100%. Progress is slow and incentive is not present.
