Pros

The Los Angeles Times used to be a unique place to work with a great reputation. Good benefits, pretty competitive pay. Located in downtown at 2nd and Spring so it's near some fun stuff.

Cons

The clientele that occupies part of the building are not used to wearing business attire or acting in a fashion that is acceptable in a business environment.

Pros

Great publishing platform with the history talent and potential to be a formidable voice in media.

Cons

Management seems to be either out of touch with what the paper is capable of or too afraid to do anything in order to tow the corporate line, which is in direct opposition to the tenants of creating good journalism. Stripping resources and cow-towing to the demands of the "bean counters" restricts freedom to produce worthwhile and impactful journalism.
