Pros

If you like people, having every problem solved for you by scripts, and what few problems you do need to solve using your brain still need to be within rather tight designated lines then you'll love it

Cons

"We don't approve working when not clocked in, it's against policy" followed shortly by "we suggest you get here 15-30 minutes early to get your computer on, programs running, and log into the phone system before clocking in" Pretty much tells you all the info you need about how contradictory many policies and suggestions are... Such as don't hang up on a customer (even when they're being abusive), but you still somehow don't have to take abuse from the customer. Then any call that you do wind up forwarding to a supervisor is met with a lecture on ho2 you need to work harder to descalate the situation even though it only happens once every couple months... Hoping they changed a lot since I worked there, but I doubt it. Glad I left when I did before it drove me insane, I still get moody when someone says the words "metrics" in reference to any data point. You get a real "worker bee" vibe here, it's a step above feeling like a cog, but not enough to make you feel like your opinions matter in any way.

Pros

They paid higher than scale, and had good benefits. (They pay more because people quit a lot and they can't keep the good ones.)

Cons

The new leadership on the tech side has changed the culture from that of fail fast fix fast, to "who is responsible" and a blame game. Engineers are now afraid to admit fault and end up pointing the finger. Middle management care more about how they look to their bosses than unblockong those they are leading. Gone are the days of "servant leadership" at Lowe's, Now management holds a whip and expects results that are unreasonable and chastise individuals publicly. There is a clear cast system being incorporated into the Lowe's culture too. People focus on impressing their bosses and deflecting blame, not doing their jobs. Many highly skilled engineers and architects on the tech side are quitting. New hires are leaving after less than six months. Employees who have been with the company for years are leaving hundreds of thousands in RSU just to walk away. That is a sign of poor corporate and VP-level management.

Pros

Okay Pay Nice office HQ opportunity to network with different departments

Cons

No diversity outside of HR. Like NONE. Lowe’s will always be 2nd to THD until they start embracing diversity. Incompetent leaders who are selfish and do not care about your growth. This place does not do real marketing only a few get to do it. I’ve seen people get let go for no reason other than they weren’t a good “culture fit”. If you are a person who likes to challenge the idea of “ we’ve always done it this way” you will be miserable here If you don’t care and like to check a box this place is PERFECT for you! Department changes direction every 3 months. No stability. Too much work that goes no where. Asked to rework things that no one sees. Pointless. So many system issues that prevent you from going above and beyond New CEO is good but middle management is awful!
