Poor Culture, Poor Work-Life Balance — Proceed with Caution

Anonymous employee

Business Outlook

Pros

Base pay is competitive Ambitious product vision

Cons

Equity (RSUs) structure lacks transparency and often feels misleading. Performance is rarely the true basis for recognition or promotion — favoritism dominates. Toxic work culture that rewards compliance and political maneuvering over actual contribution. Extremely demanding hours with little regard for work-life balance. It’s demoralizing to work so hard and see minimal impact in actual production outcomes.

Pros

Parking is free. You can use toilets after a not so long queue.

Cons

Toxic Culture Disguised as Innovation. Behind the slick marketing and futuristic vehicles lies a deeply dysfunctional and demoralizing work culture. Favoritism Over Talent: Promotions and recognition here aren’t based on merit or results but on who you know and how well you stroke the egos of upper management. If you're not part of the inner circle often made up of ex-Tesla cronies and old automotive execs you’ll be overlooked, no matter how hard you work or how skilled you are. Country Club Mentality and peak favoritism: This place runs like a country club for a select few. Senior leadership especially VP protects its own, and if you're not part of the clique, good luck having your voice heard. Many decisions are made behind closed doors, with little transparency and even less interest in fresh perspectives. It feels like a relic of corporate politics, not a cutting-edge tech company. Poisonous Colleagues & Backstabbing: The work environment is cutthroat. Teams are riddled with passive aggressive behavior, information hoarding, and backstabbing. Collaboration is more of a buzzword than a reality. Toxic personalities are not only tolerated they’re promoted, creating a culture where people are constantly looking over their shoulders. Poor Culture & Burnout: Lucid promotes a "mission-driven" mantra, but it’s mostly a cover for overworking employees and pushing unrealistic expectations. Final Thought: If you're considering Lucid as your next career move, be prepared to navigate a toxic maze of favoritism, outdated leadership dynamics, and hostile coworkers. The car may seem to be innovative, but the company culture is stuck in the past and it's corroding from the inside out.
