Pros

There is no good thing, they just tell you a bunch of lies.

Cons

Last year, I was thrilled to receive a job offer from Lumentum, a move that aligned perfectly with my career trajectory and aspirations. This offer led me to make significant life changes, including declining another attractive job opportunity and resigning from my then-current full-time position, in anticipation of joining Lumentum. However, my excitement and planning were abruptly upended when two months later, Lumentum rescinded their offer, citing budget cuts as the sole reason. This decision was not only sudden but also lacked the foresight and responsibility one would expect from a reputable company. Lack of Professionalism and Forethought: The manner in which Lumentum handled the rescindment of my job offer demonstrates a concerning lack of professionalism and consideration for the candidates' professional and personal circumstances. The decision's timing, merely a month before my start date, and after I had made irreversible decisions based on their offer, was particularly disruptive. Consequences of Their Actions: Lumentum's decision left me in a precarious position, having to navigate the job market anew without the security of the full-time position I had resigned from. The lack of any form of compensation or support from Lumentum, despite being aware of the significant impact their decision had on me, adds insult to injury. Ethical Considerations and Market Presence: A company's reputation is not solely built on its products or services but also on how it treats its people, including potential employees. The irresponsible handling of job offers and the lack of accountability when actions profoundly affect individuals' lives raise serious ethical concerns. It compels one to question the integrity of a company that operates with such disregard for basic professional decency.
