      Pros

      Excellent pay and lots of autonomy. You don't need any experience to start as a sales assistant, it's very much based on who you are as a person. Plenty of opportunity for progression and paid training.

      Cons

      No HR department so complaints often go unheard. Managers are given a lot of freedom which is a double edged sword as the quality of your working life depends on the managers mood. An example is that I didn't know I was entitled to holiday for a long time... It was my first job... Chances for promotion are rife but it seems like you have to "know" someone to get in...

      Pros

      Working in Lush requires me to make excellent use of my communication and sales skills. The company is renowned for its friendly and knowledgeable staff who embody the company´s values. At its core, this is a sales role, and it is crucial at all times to be aware of, and reaching and exceeding, targets, while maintaining the warm and welcoming store atmosphere. As floor manager, it is also my responsibility to ensure that my staff work to these high standards. Part of my role at Lush has been to curate the store´s online profile, managing its social media presence and using this sphere to reach and engage with new customers.

      Cons

      Sometimes the company forgets about humans when they are busy thinking about animal welfare.
