Pros

The company is founded with engineering at its core. Most employee's come on as engineers and move into other roles, such as marketing, sales, management, etc. This sets the tone for everyone to have a respect for the time and effort required to design a product. There were a lot of high quality experienced engineers to learn form.

Cons

Window treatments and lighting are not the most captivating subjects for a mechanical engineer to work on. The electrical engineers seemed to have a different experience, as they always seemed enthralled in their work.

Pros

Most are quality people. Communication on peer level is great. Technical support was provided when asked. Some basics in sales, but no training, rather an opportunity to do all by yourself to learn. Overall is a good company to start your career, but don't stay for too long. Otherwise you will become as rigid as the whole structure. Do your best, learn important things and move on. 2-3 yrs would do.

Cons

If you want to learn how to make good money in sales your stop by here should be very short. No commission for sales (pure salary), sales targets (in my case) were far above what was possible in the market. Strategy was really Achilles heel. The markets in Europe have been neglected for years. Company is losing the ground there to local competition. Poor or no customer support. When it comes to renovation, the customer has forgotten the company. Neglect is a killer of repeat business. Very sad to have seen this lots of times. The company looks like and acts like the empire in its final stage of decay... unless miracle happens. And yes, a bunch of good and strong people in the field of sales still somehow compensate the strategic shortsightedness of top management.
