Pros

Once this was amongst the best places a person could work, now I would be hard pressed to come up with any examples that could be used as justification for anyone to work at Luxottica.

Cons

I worked at Luxottica in the North American headquarters for many years. I watched our stock soar from $35 to $75 dollars under the leadership of some of the most intelligent minds I have ever met. Then I saw a selfish dispute start between the leadership and the company owner. I then witnessed dozens of during at the executive level, followed by hundreds more all over. This is the behavior of a company in peril, not a category killer toting an 80% margin on its goods. To put it short and sweet, this company is under new management, they will use your, burn you out, fire you and replace you with nothing reassembling a care for another human. If you are considering this company, I implore you to turn around and run as fast as your feet will carry you.

Pros

I used to love working for this company. The new company as shared by the global CEO last month is that Luxottica is not the same place. We move fast now. Things that took months now take days.

Cons

- Downsized so much people are working many nights and weekends to keep up - Leaders are changing direction so much it is hard to get a handle on a vision- there has been none shared - everyone is afraid to lose their job if they disagree with management - There is no opportunity for career growth at corporate - There is no training at all offered for corporate associates - The leaders of the company (presidents and Executive teams) are no longer visible or approachable - People feel they are being used up and will be discarded once they cannot keep up with the demands.

Pros

Decent salary, decent benefits, but cons outweigh pros.

Cons

Reporting system that this company uses called SAP BO is like working with tools from the 90’s. Pretty much no reporting works during high peak hours, meaning you will have to work weekends and late nights. Leadership now wants you to come into the office, which means you’ll just waste time at the office where the network is also really slow, just to have to go home and work some more. The leader overseeing target optical and Pearle Vision is extremely toxic, forcing employees to work crazy hours including all company holidays. No respect for employees, and no work life balance. Someone seriously needs to send this guy to get some executive coaching in how to actually lead, not micromanage everyone. Morale is insanely low, and there is just no organization at all in this company. You will not learn anything, as all they sell is glasses. Even the basic operational things can’t be handled properly and with efficiency.
