Pros

•Competitive pay. •Great benefits. •Provided county vehicles. •Flex scheduling. •Attending virtual conferences. •Meetings were held regularly.

Cons

•Company culture was dismissive and used micro-aggressions frequently. •My onboarding was the first sign of disorganization in the department. •Rapid fire e-mails with unrealistic timelines. Minimal contact with direct supervisor. •A co-worker was paired with me and was responsible for onboarding . Again, minimal communication with my direct manager. •Direct manager was impossible to reach by phone, text, or chat. Responded to e-mails only and could talk only last 10 minutes of the day. •Worked harder to please a supervisor who existed via e-mails only than the clients. •Frequently did not have time to take lunch or breaks. •Too difficult to get approval to use funding.

Pros

The people you work for are either awesome or back stabbers. Sometimes you never know until it’s too late!

Cons

Because there are elected officials, there can be too much change and not always for the better. This is a rough county to work for, I don’t recommend it personally.

Pros

The people that work there are incredibly supportive. The pay and benefits are excellent for a rural community.

Cons

Politics are always a con when working in local government.
