Pros

The salary keeps you from starvation

Cons

Way too much nepotism. Nothing ever gets fixed, patch it and write it up again

Pros

Safety focus and strong company presence in Houston

Cons

Too lean, systems that are ripe with problems go long periods of time without being fixed and will continue to go unresolved until they cause major issues

Pros

LyondellBasell is a good company to work for. Salary was good. Benefits were good, but after the bankruptcy, there were a number of changes to the benefit plan that somewhat made it less desirable. Normal hours were reasonable. Most co-workers were great.

Cons

As with all jobs, the people you work with and the management either makes or breaks the job. There were some that were great to work with and some that only cared about moving up the ladder, no matter who they had to step on to get there. After the bankruptcy, management went down greatly. The past managers moved to other companies, as did a number of middle managers and field and office workers.
