      Pros

      Good pay, excellent benefits. When working on contract, the company allows you to focus on that work and does not require a great deal of "extracurricular" commitments common at other companies.

      Cons

      Limited lateral mobility and (related) little insight into other work the company is doing. Limited opportunities for technical training, enrichment activities, conferences, etc.

      The better government contractor company

      Pros

      Very good pay. Good benefits package. Employees are treated well, especially for a large company. They went out of their way to protect my pay the best they could during contract renegotiations.

      Cons

      Large company. (both pro and con) I'm in a remote location, with very little corporate involvement. Meaning I've had to fin for my self at times.
