Nerf gun wars is a new one. Not sure if that is code for something else but we should be clear that we do not intend to support in-house nerf gun wars.

Pros

Work with some great and talented people. Ability to start new at relatively competitive compensation.

Cons

There is zero ability to grow within this company, what you come in at is what you stay at. Very small compensation adjustments are made far and few in between and treated as they are extremely significant. Management is more focused on "new" talent than utilizing or taking value in the talent they already have. Any new opportunities will be reserved to try and appeal to potentially new external candidates. The entire management team has zero forethought when it comes to planning anything and all their decisions are knee jerk reactions to appease those above them. This results in decisions that destroy more value than they bring. This leads employees to feel like any value they bring to the company is worthless, since they feel it will be destroyed by management's decisions within weeks anyways. Any decisions that management knows to be wrong, or that will upset its employees, are intentionally hidden and when confronted, blame the employees themselves for not being more attentive. They put forth the effort to make their employees feel like they are being listened to, but the conversation or idea is usually lost within minutes after ending, if not during the conversation itself. If you do get a reason to why they never take any employee suggestions or concerns into serious consideration, it is usually an obvious excuse with very little substance. So this tactic loses all effectiveness after two or three instances. Resulting in the entire workforce feeling powerless to bring any solutions to the crippling environment created by such a toxic management style.
