Absolutely terrible place to work

Pros

Pay was okay, some cool people worked there. Usually not for long though. oh, and free cake once a month.

Cons

Policies change almost monthly. You don't get any personal days whatsoever. They will use any and every excuse they can to take your vacation time away. Thought I accepted a 5 day a week 8 hour a day job, quickly turned into 12 hours a day 6 days a week.

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review on both the positive and negative things you encountered while working for us. We've put a lot of effort into responding to opportunities for improvement including improving our vacation accrual process, trialing a more liberal attendance management program, and improving hiring practices to reduce overtime. I hope our current employees can attest to these efforts and to a brighter, more consistent side of Multi-Color. While news like yours can be hard to hear, it is what gives us insight to opportunities and makes us better and stronger in the long run. Thank you for your feedback.

Needs more work on policies

Pros

Money and benefits are not bad but they can do better.

Cons

Trying to run a plant with nothing short of a skeleton crew. Policies which create a hostile work environment in which everyone is so afraid for their jobs that they are willing to throw one another under the bus to get the heat off of them. Have no Standard Operating Procedure, policies are made up on the fly. Not much of a future unless one becomes management otherwise everyone else is expendable including those with valuable experience. Point/demerit system run amok, no discretion used when dealing with tardiness, sickness, or family emergencies. So much time spent threatening write-ups and termination that materials are barely kept in stock so that associates can actually do their jobs.

Thank you for giving us feedback. Since your review the Virginia facility has received an FSSC certification which we were able to receive through creating and consistently applying standard operating procedures. Our attendance policy has also changed in the last 6 months which our associates will hopefully find favor with. Thank you for your service to the VA Plant. We hope you have seen these and other improvements over the last 18 months. If you have other observations or ideas, we welcome them. We appreciate the feedback you've shared and will use it to continue to improve.

Great at mediocrity

Pros

Solid benefits, relatively competitive pay. Comprehensive safety program (lots of money spent in that area). All sorts of certifications and wall decoration.

Cons

If you end up working here, you could realistically expect to be told to check boxes, use pad answers for actual problems...and then rinse and repeat until retirement. If you like vanilla ice cream, this is the place for you. The entire structure is top heavy and so burdened with red tape and political agendas that it's rare to see results from that group. Again, unless you're looking to make a difference and find some fulfillment in your professional life, this isn't a bad place to work. If you want to make a difference or take on a challenge that moves the needle, you're probably be better off somewhere else.
