      How many MGE Managers does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

      Pros

      Union Job, with adequate pay and benefits.

      Cons

      Never understood why they were so heavy on the Management. Some Managers oversee a handful of people, and often don't seem to understand the jobs of the people they are managing. Oldschool company that hasn't kept up with current technologies.

      Pros

      As an engineering intern, I was consistently working on real projects from start to finish. I got to do the actual designs of the distribution system and work with city engineers, construction companies, and MGE crew members. Everyone I worked with was very friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. The atmosphere was very relaxed and casual.

      Cons

      Office feels a little outdated, but not a severe problem. If you are big into renewable energy then this may not be the place for you, although, they are making goals for 2030.

      Pros

      The people are very nice.

      Cons

      Using outdated technology everywhere. Sort of a time warp. Software from 1983 being used everyday, and I'm not kidding. To get anything updated or changed is nearly impossible. Their attitude is "if it worked 25 years ago, it should be fine."
