bad management

Pros

You get a job and a pay check. Company head office is Columbia, MD, a good location close to DC and Baltimore.

Cons

CEO believes that a good company is bad for employees. Work hours is tough. Management is time oriented, not task oriented. Very high turn over ratio.

Pros

if I have to say a pro , it is the location. Normally there is no traffic. nothing else is good.

Cons

every thing you can name it. bad management. push you a lot lot of over time and threat you to fire you if you don't .

Software Engineering at its Worst

Pros

The MICROS name looks good on the resume. Columbia, Maryland is a nice place to work with plenty of other companies located in the Gateway Corporate Park. Plenty of free parking.

Cons

MICROS attempts to follow a waterfall model. However, there is no software engineering management to support the process. At best, software development in the Columbia location is CMMI-1. Other subsidiaries or locations may have better process. This is not the place to go if you have a degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and are expecting a mature software development process and software development organization. There is no career path in the R&D group.
