Promotions are very rare. If you come in with a PhD, it is likely you will go your whole career without a promotion. There is no such thing as raises (beyond cost of living). Everyone with the same title (there are essentially only four titles) makes the same amount.

-Working with some of the smartest people on earth who have no social skills -Rigidity : do not think you can come in early and leave early. Hours are hours -Security -Wokeness -Old buildings -Bureaucracy and red tape -Some coworkers do not care about you -Culture is lacking -No OT -If you are in a bad group good luck -Pay is competitive for Technical staff for admins or non science people its ok -Administrative staff is the lowest on the pole and your coworkers will let you know it -Technical Staff has unlimited sick time but admin and others have only set 7 days. Totally not fair at all. Staff always abuses the sick time. -EHS are terrible to deal with -Old timers there think anyone under 40 is a kid and know zero -If there are any accidents on injuries good luck they will not believe you If you are not a science or engineer think twice about working here
