Pros

Great place to learn and study. Lots of support from professors and staffs. Everyone is are amazing in their own specialty.

Cons

People focus a lot on hacking culture both from the media portrait of the school and from within. Sometimes we lost track of other things in life.

MIT is Overrated

Pros

Interesting people, interesting culture (at least in the past), good reputation, classes aren't nearly as hard as you would expect, good alumni connections

Cons

Decaying buildings, long hours, impenetrable bureaucracy, high cost of living anywhere near campus, no parking, low compensation, MIT medical is pretty much useless

Pros

Amazing environment on the forefront of science and innovation. Great people to interact with.

Cons

Often research projects are a single postdoc thing as a shot in the dark disregarding the real amount of resources and experience that would be needed to tackle the problem. Either you accomplish and survive on your own. Or you don't.
