Pros

Awesome place to work! Truly mission driven. Everyone contributes to the mission of MIT in their own way.

Cons

Highly politicized environment (common in higher ed). Ideas matter, people can steal ideas quickly to get ahead.

Pros

Being a graduate student should mean that you are getting paid to study your favorite thing. Having access to the machine and people resources at MIT only bolsters that experience.

Cons

The financial system at MIT is pathetically antiquated and overly structured in a way that is crippling to any unique circumstance, even for graduate students.

Pros

MIT is a great place to work; people are all around top-notch, work hard mentality but also a lot of freedom. We get a lot of vacation, and I even get $5,000+ a year to spend on tuition which I use at Harvard Extension School. I also took a bioengineering class through MIT's Advanced Study Program for free. There's always some sort of education/social event going on (free food!). They also subsidize your T pass over 50%, so my commute costs me only $35/month.

Cons

Only thing is that the pay is pretty low. Other than that I can't think of any cons.
