Pros

You get to work with some of the smartest people, on big ideas that might change the world. The EECS department at MIT is very well funded, so most graduate students never have to worry about where their funding is coming from and can instead focus on what interests them.

Cons

MIT can be pretty stressful. People tend to work long hours, and working on weekends isn't all that uncommon. This is especially true around paper deadline times.
