      Mixed Bag - Awesome mixed with truly disfunctional

      Pros

      Some very good, smart people. Great potential if you are smart, nimble, and can produce for clients. Excellent benefits and facilities. Socially responsible mission. Some units run extremely well and foster employees (others not). If you are looking for a series of challenges and get in with the right program, you can do very well.

      Cons

      Former CEO was unstable and fostered a culture of paranoia and back stabbing. Quick to fire on a whim. Clueless strategy and myopic vision. Positions are all grant/contract funded (except central management), so no long-term security. If you are looking for security and stability, this is not your place.

      Many benefits to encourage employees to maintain their health as well as work/life balance.

      Cons

      The campus can be difficult to navigate.

      Pros

      The employees at MPHI are great and so are the health benefits. Also nice having access to a free company gym.

      Cons

      Everything is based on the grants funding which can be stressful if your department doesn't have enough funding. You pretty much work entirely for MDHHS doing their undesired work and they expect you to do more than they pay you to do. Also a very slow-pace, quiet work environment.
