Pros

There are a lot of talented people, working hard in a very flat organization. This means that you will get to wear a variety of hats and try new things. Nevertheless, engineering is really the focus of the company. I was in a small, 9-person group focused on performance aspects of the company's software products. My manager was great, and I got to work on several of the companies best products.

Cons

The focus on the new product, Apex, comes at the expense of the existing products, it seems. They are under-resourced. As a result, working on the existing products it feels like you have to do things that would be offloaded to another team at a larger, more hierarchical company.

Pros

If you like to work 24/7 this is a great place. Expect to work regularly to 10 ore 11pm and on weekends. Don't worry about vacation time here....you'll never get to take one. Employees are NOT valued in this place.

Cons

The company has now been recapitalized twice. The indentured servitude wouldn't be so bad if there was a payday in sight. The only ones that will make money on this are the CEO, CFO and PE owner. Your options are worthless and granted at a fraction of an independent valuation. Employees are not valued and are all replaceable. Don't expect to exercise any independent thought. Everything is micromanaged from the top. Use skype not the telephone. CEO is counting paperclips.
