We care about our employees very much through all stages of their career at MSCI—from the day they arrive and throughout their tenure at the firm. Engagement of our employees is always a top priority. MSCI has many programs and opportunities for our people ranging from training and development to Employee Resource Groups, philanthropy events, and corporate sponsored fun days. Our promotion philosophy is solidly based upon many concrete factors such as performance ,contributions ,impact in role, and demonstration of MSCI Values. Finally, we encourage employee driven conversations with managers on a regular basis and promote a culture of feedback and goal achievement, not micro management.

Pros

Good work environment Acceptable work-life balance Opportunities to transfer abroad Leading company in its industry

Cons

Higher education degrees are worthless in the company both in compensation and responsibility. No work experience is valuable for them unless you have worked with a client or direct competitor, you start from zero here. Compensation growth stagnates fast, they have a gap of middle aged people compared to entry level and senior management due to that. There are no visible controls on managers protecting their direct reports. Many managers have very limited people management skills.
