Pros

Diverse set of customers provide lots of opportunities Employee ownership provides strong decision making Strong set of benefits, including 401k, company stock, health care, and flexible PTO Core Value of "Employees First" is present in decision making

Cons

Some work (SETA and A&AS) is not as challenging as the company's systems engineering, test engineering, and cyber work. Company is working hard at staying predominantly in the more challenging areas, but large SETA/A&AS contracts can sometimes be attractive.

Pros

The people, work, family culture and pay & benefits. MTSI has been an exceptional place to work since I started. Everyone I work with is very nice, yet professional. Each member of the team is very talented and dedicated to doing a good job. As an employee owned company, all members are driven to succeed by a common goal of making sure the company is successful and profitable. I have witnessed individuals being brought onto overhead instead of being laid-off when a contract was downsized or that person's position (on contract) was eliminated. They did this because they wanted to keep their top team members on board and take care of them for the services they performed. Every manager from the supervisor to executive level that I've interacted with has been extremely professional and have, for the most part, had an open door policy. The benefits package is truly one of the best I've ever seen - almost unheard of in today's corporate environment. Because this company pays so well and provides such excellent benefits, they do expect a high level of performance, and, from what I have seen will offer reassignment (if available) or additional training to make sure you have the skills to do a good job. Pair that with the amazing tuition reimbursement program and there is no reason someone shouldn't be able to go far with this company. Also, no one stands over you micromanaging every detail of what you do. You're expected to and trusted with performing your work and updating your manager during your weekly meetings. If you've done what you need to do, done it well, and have all your "ducks in a row," then you are given pretty decent leeway on your daily schedule and vacation scheduling. I want to work for MTSI until I retire; a long time from now!

Cons

I can not think of any specific "cons" to describe. I guess I could get picky and start listing off things that seem negative, but I don't think that would be fair. Anything I would have to say that's negative has been addressed and resolved or is an issue that is just part of doing business, and I get that.

Pros

MTSI employees are owners and they have built a culture, not just a company. MTSI culture is characterized by ethical conduct, respect, integrity and trust. MTSI attracts and retains the absolute best people in this industry. We have a premier benefit plan, extremely competitive compensation packages including bonuses and the most honest and ethical leadership. The best part of MTSI is the people!

Cons

I really can't think of anything that I can genuinely complain about or a major area to improve.

Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. I agree that our employee-owned culture is unique and important. It's also important that we maintain our culture as we grow. Our core values are discussed often as company decisions are made. I think our benefits are a great example of how we strive to keep our culture intact, even as we hire more people and the company grows and as our industry becomes more competitive. Taking care of great people is at the core of what we do and it sounds like it is going well from your perspective, which is great to hear. Please let us know if you have any suggestions in the future.
